Davidson promoted in FDCSD

Will take district-wide role

The principal of the Fort Dodge Middle School will be moving up to a district-wide leadership role.

Aaron Davidson will become the executive director of educational services for the Fort Dodge Community School District on July 1.

In this new role, Davidson will work closely with incoming Superintendent Josh Porter while supporting other administrators and leaders.

“Aaron brings with him a wide range of knowledge and experiences from throughout his career,” porter said in a written statement. “He leads by example, hard work and dedication to our staff and students. He has established himself as a leader both in our district and the Fort Dodge community.”

Davidson described himself as “humbled and honored” to be named to the position.

“My educational background, experiences and leadership style will give me the ability to be successful in serving all stakeholders,” he said. “I look forward to helping continue to move the Fort Dodge Community School District in a positive direction and to advocate for all involved in our educational community.”

He has been principal at the middle school since 2019.

He was previously a principal in the Pocahontas Area and the former Pomeroy-Palmer school districts.

He has taught at St. Edmond Catholic School and at the former Phillips Middle School in Fort Dodge.

Davidson has served on the School Administrators of Iowa Executive Committee and Representative Council, the American School Leader Panel and as a leadership coach for the Northwestern College Principal Preparation Program.

Last year he was a finalist for the School Administrators of Iowa Middle School principal of the year.

He is a native of Fort Dodge who graduated from St. Edmond High School in 1995.

Starting at $4.62/week.
