Communities across north central Iowa will come together on Monday to commemorate Memorial Day.

Here is a partial listing of observances and ceremonies in the area:

• Belmond: 11 a.m Luick Memorial Auditorium

• Emmetsburg: 9 am. parade, 9:30 a.m. ceremonies at the cemetery.

• Fort Dodge: 10 a.m. concert by Karl King Municipal Band, 10:30 a.m. ceremony. All at Terry Moehnke Veterans Memorial Park. Because of limited parking, buses will take people from Harlan and Hazel Rogers Sports complex to the site. Buses will begin running at 9 a.m.

• Harcourt: 10 a.m. Harcourt Community Center

• Lytton: 10 a.m. Legion Hall

• Otho: 10 a.m, decorating graves of veterans with marshals Lyle Heatherington, Craig Lindstrom, Don Luhrman and Marvin Stringer; 10:30 a.m. ceremonies; all at Otho Cemetery

• Sac City: 10:30 a.m. VFW Post 590
