DAYTON — The 12th annual Dayton Old Engine Day is SATURDAY at Dayton Oak Park, Dayton. The car/tractor/Jeep show is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., free kids tractor pull at 1 p.m. for ages 4 to 11 years, BBQ cookoff plates available at 2 p.m., bags tournament at 3 p.m. There will be a raffle for a pedal car. Dayton citywide garage sales are also Saturday.

EMMETSBURG — VFW Memorial Day ceremonies begin at 9 a.m. MONDAY in Emmetsburg with a parade from the Methodist Church. Cemetery services begin at 9:30 a.m. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremonies will be held at 9:30 a.m. at VFW Post 2295, Emmetsburg.

STRATFORD — The Swedish Immigrant Museum, 819 Goldsmith St., Stratford, is hosting a State Historical Society of Iowa exhibit, “World War I Honor Roll” beginning 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. SATURDAY and SUNDAY and 1 to 3 p.m. MONDAY. Admission is free.

HARCOURT — Greenfield Hartquist American Legion Memorial Day service is 10 a.m. MONDAY at the Harcourt Community Service, Harcourt.

In Fort Dodge

FORT DODGE ­– A Memorial Day observance will be held MONDAY at Terry Moehnke Veterans Memorial Park on National Avenue north of Fort Dodge. Dodger Area Rapid Transit buses will shuttle people from Harlan and Hazel Rogers Sports Complex to Terry Moehnke Veterans Memorial Park. The buses will begin operating at 9 a.m. The Karl L. King Municipal Band, conducted by Jerrold P. Jimmerson, will start playing at 10:00 a.m., prior to the start of the program, scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.
