FD council has food trucks on the menu

The Fort Dodge City Council will consider establishing some rules for food vendor trucks when it meets today.

The council will have a workshop on that issue beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 819 First Ave. S.

The proposal to be presented by the city staff would require a license for operating a food truck in the city. It would also require proof of liability insurance, and an inspection of any propane tanks by the Fire Department.

The proposal would establish the hours that a food truck can be in operation, and where in the city they can be operated.

The council will only discuss the plan; no votes on it are scheduled for tonight.

The council’s regular business meeting will begin at 6 p.m. During that session, the council will vote on the final reading of the Prohibited Acts Ordinance that would ban loitering, obstructing traffic and some other offenses.

Starting at $4.94/week.
