It is time once again for the Friends of St. Edmond Ball, as this year marks the 40th annual event.

Set for May 6 at the Best Western Starlite Village Inn & Suites in Fort Dodge, the ball will begin at 6 p.m. with co-chairs being Elliot and Ashley Doster and Jeremiah and Erin Rossmanith.

The theme for this year is “Roots to Come Back to, Reasons to Stay,” which ties together all of the main reasons for having the ball.

“The 40th anniversary of the ball makes this year special and has led to a lot of excitement for us as co-chairs,” Erin Rossmanith said. “We are eager to support St. Edmond and continue this tradition.

“As parents, we value the education St. Edmond gave to our children by providing academic excellence while instilling the importance of faith and service. For these reasons, we chose the theme.”

Beginning at 6:45 p.m., a special presentation to honor the inaugural ball chairs and all those who have helped along the way will take place.

The silent auction has already started at www.biddingforgood.com/seball and will be open through May 6.

The live auction takes place at 8:30 p.m. May 6 and will feature 10 specialty items, including dinners, trips and experiences. There will also be a special wine and whiskey pull.

“As graduates of St. Edmond, we are honored to co-chair this year’s ball,” Ashley Doster said. “We have always believed in the mission of the school and are grateful to have our own children attend the school we attended.

“Faith has always been important to both of our families growing up. We are thankful to have great teachers who work with us to help form our children to become good citizens and disciples of Jesus. We are happy that they can have the same great experience that we had years ago.”

Salty View’s Acoustic Review will be providing music as they debut a new addition to the band in Claudia Rhiner during the event.

Along with the ball, a basketball tournament and golf outing will be held on May 5.

“We are all so appreciative of the whole community,” Susan Laufersweiler, the school’s development director, said. “There is no way we could have hosted this event for the last 40 years without their tremendous support.”
