The second defendant charged in the Dec. 25 death of 46-year-old Montreail Dungy, of Fort Dodge, has pleaded not guilty in Webster County District Court.
Darwin Green, 27, of Fort Dodge, entered his written plea on Monday, demanding his right to a speedy trial. His co-defendant is his older half-brother, Lakendrick Mosley, 31. Court records show both Fort Dodge and Des Moines addresses for Mosley.
Both Green and Mosley are charged with first-degree murder, a Class A felony.
Investigators say that in the early morning hours of Dec. 25, 2022, Mosley approached Dungy, who was sitting in his vehicle in the 1000 block of 10th Avenue Southwest, and shot him multiple times in the head and chest “at near point-blank range.” Mosley then allegedly fled the scene with Green driving the getaway vehicle.
Mosley and Green were eventually identified as the suspects in the crime and were arrested in late March following a manhunt that spanned to southern Minnesota.
Green’s trial is tentatively scheduled for June 13. Mosley pleaded not guilty last week and his trial is scheduled for May 23.
