DALLAS COUNTY -- A Fort Dodge man died Sunday night in Dallas County after rolling the ATV he was driving on a gravel road.
Dallas County Sheriff Adam Infante confirmed that 32-year-old Sean Springer died in the ATV crash just north of Minburn.
Infante said there was a female passenger on the ATV who sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
According to Infante, Springer and the female passenger were riding the ATV northbound on U.S. Highway 169 just north of Minburn around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, when Springer turned eastbound on 170th Street, which is a gravel road. He said Springer lost control of the vehicle on the gravel and the ATV ended up in the ditch. Springer passed away at the scene.
"We believe that speed and alcohol were a factor in the crash, but we're not sure yet if that was the only reason for the crash," Infante said.
