Located on private property, this site in Sac County near the North Raccoon River valley includes an 1850s-era sod dugout house farmstead where a claim shanty and sod dugout house once stood. While those structures are gone, traces of a well-worn walking trail (shown here) from the farmstead down to the river are still evident.
