The expansion of District 29, located near 29th Street and Dodger Drive, was announced Tuesday by Talon Development, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

District 29 Phase II will include one 93-unit, four-story apartment building and five five-unit townhomes.

Floorplans will range from studio up to three-bedroom units. Apartment amenities will include in-unit laundry, stainless steel appliances, a community room, a parcel room, and a fitness center. An outdoor pool, and an outdoor patio grilling area are also planned.

“We’re excited to begin work on District 29 Phase II,” said Josh Kruger, president of Talon Development. “The success of our current location is attributed to the support from this great community, and we’re happy to continue our partnership with Fort Dodge.”

In cooperation with the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance, a groundbreaking ceremony will take place at noon Oct. 13 at 2905 Dodger Drive.

The new apartments are expected to open in the fall of 2023.

The current portion of the District 29 complex opened in September 2021. It includes a four-story building containing 93 apartments and five sets of townhomes with five units in each.

Talon Development has grown since its inception in 2018 with projects in 19 different cities and towns throughout South Dakota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. The District 29 Phase II will be the second multifamily project in Fort Dodge for Talon Development.

Collaborative efforts between Talon Development and Eagle Construction, of South Dakota, with key stakeholders of the city and the residents of Fort Dodge helped bring this project to fruition.
