The congregation of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge is inviting the community to its Harvest Festival Saturday. Activities will begin at 11 a.m. and continue through 4 p.m. A worship service with the theme "Lord of the Harvest" will begin in the church sanctuary at 6 p.m.

As the farmers bring in the last of this year’s crops, the congregation of St. Paul Lutheran Church wants to bring the Fort Dodge community together on Saturday for its Harvest Festival.

The day-long event will feature food, games, music and worship.

“The main point is a time to give thanks and a time to come together,” said Deb Dreyer, the congregation member who is the lead organizer of the event.

“Come out and enjoy yourself,” she said. “Just come and see what we have to offer. Just come and enjoy this day that God has given us.”

All of the activities will be at the church at 400 S. 13th St.

Harvest Festival will begin at 11 a.m. when various vendors open their booths. The church’s eighth-graders will be selling baked goods. Other vendors will include The Harvest Store, Faith Works, Stripling Apiaries, and Scentsy. Food and beverages will be available from Coffee Camper and a food truck specializing in Tex-Mex cuisine.

Then beginning at 1 p.m., carnival games and bingo will begin. Music will be provided by Parrish Production, a DJ and drum ministry. The Fort Dodge Fire Department smoke house, a camper home in which children are taught how to escape from house fires, will be present. The church’s high school youth group will serve apple crisp and ice cream.

A worship service will begin at 6 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Dreyer said “Lord of the Harvest” will be the theme of the service.

She added that the 175th anniversary of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, of which St. Paul Lutheran Church is a part, will also be observed during the service.

Starting at $4.94/week.
