A familiar face will soon be leading the Webster County Jail.

On Tuesday, the Webster County Board of Supervisors approved the hiring of Mark Gargano as the jail administrator, starting Sept. 21. Gargano previously served as the Webster County Sheriff’s Office/Fort Dodge Police Department Reserve Unit.

Gargano will fill the role vacated when previous Jail Administrator Shawna Dencklau was terminated in July.

Gargano’s salary will be $70,720.

In addition to his role as jail administrator, Gargano will continue as a medical examiner investigator with an annual salary of $15,000.
