Bomb threat reported at FDMS

‘No immediate threat found’

One juvenile was arrested on Wednesday after a bomb threat was reported at Fort Dodge Middle School.

According to Jen Lane, director of communications for the school district, as soon as there was a potential threat reported, the school contacted the Fort Dodge Police Department.

“The school followed policy and procedure to ensure student and staff safety,” she said.

Lane said that there was never an immediate threat to the school.

A juvenile was arrested and charged with first-degree harassment, an aggravated misdemeanor, in connection with the threat, according to Capt. Dennis Quinn, FDPD public information officer. The juvenile’s name has not been released.

Quinn added that the investigation showed that Wednesday’s incident was isolated and there is no threat to the public.
