An automated car wash called the Tidal Wave Auto Spa will open in Corridor Plaza next year.

It will be located near the intersection of First Avenue South and 25th Street.

“We were looking across that area and this came up as a great opportunity,” said Josh Henderson, the chief marketing officer of Tidal Wave Auto Spa, which is based in Thomaston, Georgia.

He said the new car wash is expected to open in the first quarter of 2023.

Vehicles will be moved through the car wash by a kind of conveyor while water and soap are sprayed onto them and big brushes clean them.

“We think of it as a tunnel,” Henderson said. “It’s a single tunnel car wash.”

He said there will be “lots of free vacuums” for cleaning the interiors of vehicles.

The car wash will employ 10 to 12 people in a mix of full-time and part-time positions.

Tidal Wave Auto Spa is the most recent new business to be announced as the former Crossroads Mall property evolves into Corridor Plaza.

Teriyaki Madness, UnityPoint Health — Clinic Express and Discount Tire have already opened.

A laundromat called Clean Laundry has been announced and is expected to open soon next to Teriyaki Madness in a new strip mall building on the South 29th Street side of the property.
