Five hired to replenish Fort Dodge Fire Dept. ranks
Three new firefighters and two emergency medical technicians have been added to the ranks of the Fort Dodge Fire Department.
All of the new hires fill vacancies.
Their appointments were approved by the City Council Monday.
The new firefighters are:
Nick Jordan, who has been serving as a fulltime EMT since May. He has certifications in Firefighter I, Hazardous Materials Awareness and Hazardous Materials Operations. He is currently training for Firefighter II and paramedic certifications.
Luke Kloetzer is a volunteer firefighter in Iowa Falls. He has the following certifications: EMT, Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Hazardous Materials Awareness, Hazardous Materials Operations, and Wildland Firefighter Type 2.
Aaron Campbell is a volunteer firefighter in Webster City. He has the following certifications: Essentials of Firefighting, Firefighter I and CPR.
The new EMTs are:
Mandy Cox, who has been a volunteer with the Garner Ambulance Service and has worked as a certified nursing assistant and home health care aide.
Genivyve Smith, who has worked with the Eldora Emergency Medical Service and as a direct support professional at Optimae LifeServices.
