Moorland firefighters and Fort Dodge paramedics carry a woman to an ambulance early Tuesday afternoon after a crash on Old Highway 20 near Hayes Avenue, west of Fort Dodge. Sgt. Geoff Miler of the Webster County Sheriff's Department said the woman was driving a Chevrolet Monte Carlo eastbound on Old Highway 20 when a mechanical problem occurred and she lost control of the car. The vehicle went off the south side of the road, vaulted the Union Pacific Railroad tracks and ended up in a corn field. Miller estimated that the car went 50 yards into the corn field. A minivan was also involved in the crash, but it did not go off the road. The woman driving the Monte Carlo was the only person in the car and was the only person injured in the crash. She was transported to UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center. The crash remains under investigation by the Webster County Sheriff's Department.
