New county communication director starts

As the Webster County 911 Emergency Communication Center transitions from being controlled by the IXP Corporation to the Webster County Sheriff’s Office, a new communication director started on Wednesday.

Brian Hitchcock was hired as the director of the communication center in May by the Webster County Board of Supervisors.

Hitchcock will lead the transition in the management of the communication center over the next few weeks, with the Webster County Sheriff’s Office officially taking over on July 1.

“The Webster County Sheriff’s Office and the IXP Corporation will work diligently to ensure the vital services provided by the 911 Emergency Communication Center will continue uninterrupted, and this will be a seamless transition that will not affect any services currently provided, and continue to promote customer service as a priority to the citizens of Webster County,” Sheriff Luke Fleener said.
