Clear Lake man charged with soliciting prostitution

A Clear Lake man is accused of soliciting and purchasing sexual services of an underage Fort Dodge teen.

Todd Allen Henze, 56, of Clear Lake, is accused of paying for a sex act with Brooklyn Delaney Lynem, 18, of Fort Dodge, in January.

Henze is charged with felony prostitution, a Class B felony. Lynem, who was 17 at the time, has also been charged with prostitution, but as an aggravated misdemeanor.

According to the criminal complaint, the act occurred between Jan. 19 and Jan. 20 in Clear Lake. First Assistant Webster County Attorney Ryan Baldridge said that though the act occurred in Cerro Gordo County, the transaction was arranged in Webster County, so the pair were charged in Webster County District Court.

Henze had his initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court on Monday. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 8. He has been released from the Cerro Gordo County Jail on a $2,000 cash bond.

Lynem had her initial appearance on Saturday. She has waived the preliminary hearing and is being held at the Webster County Jail on a $2,000 bond.

Starting at $2.99/week.
