Voters who may not have transportation to get to the polls to vote in today’s primary election could receive some help from electric scooter company Bird’s Roll to the Polls initiative.
In a Harvard University study from 2016, 14% of nonvoters in that election cited transportation barriers as a reason they did not vote.
To unlock a free ride on Election Day, riders just need to enter the code “VOTE2022” in the Bird app. The code covers one ride up to 30 minutes and is valid only today.
The scooters pictured above were at 10th Avenue North and 14th Street on Monday.
