Man sustains minor injuries in weekend shooting

FD police seek information

The Fort Dodge Police Department is looking for more information about an early-morning shooting that sent one man to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries on Saturday.

According to Fort Dodge Police Capt. Ryan Gruenberg, officers were called to the 300 block of South 18th Street around 1:21 a.m. for multiple reports of shots fired.

While on the scene, officers spoke to several witnesses who said they heard several shots being fired, but were not certain where the shots were coming from.

Officers also learned that a 26-year-old male was taken to UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center for a non-life-threatening wound to his leg. The man was treated and released, Gruenberg said.
