Davis files appeal
A Harcourt man sentenced to up to 30 years in prison for sexual abuse and incest is appealing his conviction by a Webster County jury.
Matthew James Davis, 43, was convicted in late March of two counts of third-degree sexual abuse, Class C felonies, and two counts of incest, Class D felonies. On May 9, Webster County Senior District Court Judge Thomas Bice sentenced Davis to up to 30 years in prison for his crimes.
Through his defense attorney, Davis filed his notice of appeal in Webster County District Court on May 12. He has been appointed an appellate defender for the appeals case.
