St. Paul Lutheran Church youth group members will egg your yard for a fee, as they are trying to raise funds to attend the national youth gathering in Houston, Texas, in July.

The youth at St. Paul Lutheran Church will take a hand in being a helper for the Easter Bunny as part of a fundraiser for a trip to Houston.

Families will have the chance to wake up on April 16 and April 17 with a visit from the youth group, which is trying to raise funds for the national youth gathering in Houston, Texas.

The students will deliver the eggs on Friday, April 15 and Saturday, April 16.

The eggs will be stuffed with candy and trinkets. The cost of the service will be $20 for 24 eggs, $30 for 48 eggs and $50 for 96 eggs.

Families may also order an Easter balloon basket that looks like a hot air balloon for $25. Families may also just have the basket of eggs dropped off at their doorstep.

St. Paul Lutheran Church youth group members will egg your yard for a fee, as they are trying to raise funds to attend the national youth gathering in Houston, Texas, in July.

“The youth will stuff the eggs with candy and trinkets,” said Jolene Hays, who is helping spearhead the fundraiser. “They will go out in the dark and hide the eggs. They will be able to put them wherever the family would want them.”

This is the first year that St. Paul is doing this as a fundraiser. In the past they have done flocking yards, but stopped after COVID.

“We did flocking for a few years, but COVID hit,” said Hays. “The kids just get so excited about hiding things and the fellowship of being with each other.”

The funds will help 18 of the youth group members to attend the national youth gathering in Houston during the month of July. They will take a bus ride with students from Ida Grove and Battle Creek, totaling 36 on the trip.

The national convention is every four years and groups from St. Paul have gone to Minneapolis, St. Louis and New Orleans in the past.

“It’s all about growing their faith,” Hays said. “Over 20,000 people will be in attendance. It’s an opportunity to meet with other youth that have the same mindset.

“While there they will do service projects and have church in the stadium.”
