One man was taken to the hospital after he allegedly failed to stop near a construction zone and his truck went over another truck west of Fort Dodge Thursday

According to Webster County Sheriff Luke Fleener, Dennis Jones was westbound in a 2019 Ford F-150 on Iowa Highway 7 just west of U.S. Highway 169 when he stopped at a construction stoplight. Darryl Albrecht, of Clare, was also westbound in a 2020 GMC Sierra pickup when he failed to stop behind Jones and essentially drove up over a trailer and Jones’ truck, landing on the Sierra’s side.

Albrecht was trapped in the vehicle for a while, Fleener said. He was then taken to UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries.

The accident happened at about 12:10 p.m., Fleener said.

The accident remains under investigation and no charges have been filed.
