GOWRIE — Gowrie United Methodist Church is holding a May Basket Sale from 8 a.m. until sold out TODAY at the church. Each basket is filled with goodies and is $3 per basket. There will also be “grab and go” coffee and cookies.

FONDA — The Fonda Arts Center presents an afternoon of gospel, folk and country music with Carter and Caley Nath at 3 p.m. SUNDAY at the center. Free admission and refreshments.

LEHIGH — Lehigh Methodist Church is holding a Spring Supper and Bake Sale from 5 to 7 p.m. SATURDAY at the church. Scalloped potatoes and ham, salad, fresh baked roll and pie will be served. Dinner tickets are $10 per person and children age 4 and under are free. There dinner will be served dine in, carryout or drive up.Call 515-359-2329 for more information.

BADGER — Badger Lions Club is holding a Pancake Breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon SUNDAY at the Badger Fire Station. All the pancakes you can eat plus sausage, eggs, orange juice, milk or coffee will be served. Those attending may bring used eyeglasses and hearing aids for the Lions to recycle. Advance tickets are $5, tickets at the door are $6 per person, $3 for children age 10 and under and children age 4 and under are free.

In Fort Dodge

FORT DODGE — The 19th annual Otho Fireman’s Ball is 5 p.m. to midnight SATURDAY at the Webster County Fairgrounds, 22770 Old Highway 169. There will be a meal from 5 to 7 p.m. with an auction at 6 p.m. and music and dancing until midnight. There will also be door prizes and raffles. Advance tickets are $10 for adults. Tickets at the door are $12 for adults and $6 for children.

FORT DODGE — Grace Lutheran Church, 211 S. Ninth St., is holding a Rummage Sale from noon to 6 p.m. TODAY and 9 a.m. to noon SATURDAY. Sloppy joes, chips, homemade pie and a drink will be served both days. There will be a $3 bag sale at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. All proceeds go to education scholarships for companion congregation students in Matembwe, Tanzania and Lutheran Disaster Response to help those afflicted by natural disasters.

FORT DODGE — Fort Dodge Choral Society presents “Heavenly Voices” at 3 p.m. SUNDAY at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, 239 N. 11th St. The May Day celebration featuring choir, chamber orchestra, guest soloist Collin Ellsbury and the world premiere of Jonathan Campbell’s “Requiem.” Admission is by season membership or $10 at the door, all students are admitted free.
