Egg My Yard event set for FD

Residents can book 'eggings' through FD Parks and Rec

Fort Dodge families will get the chance to have the “Easter Bunny” visit their yard.

The Fort Dodge Parks and Recreation Department will be holding its first Egg My Yard event.

“Our initial plan was to do it in 2020, but we couldn’t because of COVID,” said Program Supervisor Erin Habben. “We thought it would be a good idea to run with it this year.

“We wanted to go out and do something and then the kids could have a surprise the next morning.”

The Parks and Recreation Department has booked two nights of egging participants in the front yard with stuffed Easter eggs.

People can book the time and how many eggs are needed. The Recreation Department will come and hide the eggs in the front yard for a morning surprise.

The Parks and Recreation Department has 30 spots available on both Friday, April 15, and Saturday, April 16, between 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

The cost for the eggs are: 25 eggs for $15; 50 eggs for $35; 75 eggs for $55 and 100 eggs for $75.

Residents must live in the Fort Dodge city limits and the deadline is April 8 to register.

The registration is per family, not for multiple children at multiple spots.

The Easter Bunny will arrive in Fort Dodge via helicopter on Saturday, April 16, at 9:30 a.m. at Harlan and Hazel Rogers Sports Complex.

Starting at $4.62/week.
