As the days become warmer and longer, now is the perfect time to start thinking about projects in and around the house. Thankfully, the Home, Garden and Lifestyle Show returns this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to help you prepare.

This event, sponsored by The Messenger, The Daily Freeman-Journal, and Sears Hometown Store, will have delicious food, great prizes, vendors, and speakers to help show goers get out and get ready to tackle any project they like.

“Knowing people are anxious to get out after two years of the pandemic, and with spring around the corner, this weekend’s show will be a nice break for people,” said The Messenger and The Daily Freeman-Journal Publisher Terry Christensen.

Clayton’s Ribs and Chicken will be serving up food each day and Fort Dodge Ford Lincoln Toyota will be holding a pancake breakfast Saturday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The first 200 people to the pancake breakfast eat free.

Registration will be open for several prizes including five $100 Sears gift cards, one $500 Menards gift card, and a brand new Husqvarna riding lawn mower that retails for $2,400 from Sears Hometown Store. In addition, kids can register for a kid’s barn courtesy of Kauffman’s Wood Kreations.

Throughout the weekend, there will be several speakers presenting different topics sponsored by P&R Entry Doors Inc., of Duncombe.

Kelsey Felch with Faiferlick Martial Arts and Next Edge Performance will be talking about martial arts and pain relief Friday at 5:30 p.m., Saturday at 11 a.m., and Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

A representative from The Messenger will be holding a question and answer forum and talk about accessing the newspaper from all devices. She will speak Saturday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

On Sunday, a representative from the City of Fort Dodge will be speaking about Fort Dodge Fiber broadband at 12:30 p.m.

“Our region is fortunate to have such an event and it is made possible by the vendors so we encourage you to support these businesses. We would also like to thank Iowa Central for allowing this show to take place at their East Campus,” said Christensen.

The show will be held at Iowa Central Community College’s East Campus located at 2031 Quail Ave. in Fort Dodge. The show will be 3-7 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

Starting at $4.94/week.
