A new, stand-alone Starbucks location is coming to Fort Dodge in the near future.

The coffee shop will be located on the site of the former Pizza Hut location at 2940 Fifth Ave. S.

Vickie Reeck, community and economic development director for the city of Fort Dodge, confirmed that a preliminary site plan for the Starbucks had been submitted to the city by the developer, Batis Midstates LLC.

The Topeka, Kansas, based developer purchased the property in early December from Realty Income Corp. for $850,000, according to the Webster County Assessor’s website.

According to Reeck, the developer’s site plan includes plans to demolish the existing building. It does not give an estimated timeline on the project, she said.

Batis Midstates LLC previously developed the Kay Jewelers located at 2616 Fifth Ave. S., in 2016.
