Minnesota woman pleads not guilty to attempted murder
A Minnesota woman has pleaded not guilty to felony charges related to a violent attack on a 21-year-old woman in the early morning hours of Nov. 2, 2021.
Sharon Kemunto Morara, 19, of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, is charged with attempted murder, a Class B felony; first-degree burglary, a Class B felony; conspiracy to commit murder, a Class C felony; and assault while participating in a felony, a Class C felony.
According to Fort Dodge Police, Morara and a 22-year-old Minnesota man, Marcus M. Western, attacked a woman in her home in the 2400 block of 12th Avenue South on Nov. 2. Around 2 a.m., officers were dispatched for a welfare check at that address and located a 21-year-old female suffering from multiple stab wounds.
The victim was later airlifted to a Des Moines area hospital in critical condition.
Morara was apprehended in Minneapolis on Nov. 5 and extradited to the Webster County Jail. Western was arrested in the Minneapolis area the day prior and was extradited to Webster County in December.
Morara is scheduled to go to trial in Webster County District Court on March 22. She is currently being held at the Webster County Jail on a $1 million cash bond.
