Bath and Body Works to shutter Fort Dodge store

The end of the business day on Saturday will mark the end of the Bath and Body Works store in Fort Dodge.

”We can confirm that this store is closing and the last day of business will be Jan. 22,” the Bath and Body Works corporate communications office wrote in an email to The Messenger.

The company did not provide any reason for the upcoming closure.

Bath and Body Works offers soaps, sanitizers, home fragrances, body wash, shower gel and candles.

It opened in Crossroads Mall in 1996.

It now joins a succession of stores leaving the mall, and apparently the Fort Dodge market, as the mall transitions into a multi use complex called Corridor Plaza.

Dunhams, a sporting goods store, was the most recent store to announce it would close. Carolyn’s Hallmark Shop and rue21, a clothing and fragrance store, closed in early 2021.

The Buckle, a clothing store, left its space in the mall and reopened in its own building on South 29th Street last year.
