Badger man pleads not guilty
Pacheco charged with multiple sex crimes
A Badger man has pleaded not guilty to nearly half a dozen counts of second-degree sexual abuse involving a victim under the age of 12.
Leonardo Gonzalez Pacheco Jr., 19, was arrested and charged with one count of second-degree sexual abuse, a Class B felony, on Nov. 30. According to law enforcement, Pacheco allegedly sexually abused a minor under the age of 12 on July 31. The Messenger does not identify victims of sex crimes.
Later, on Dec. 8, Pacheco was charged with four additional second-degree sexual abuse counts for allegedly sexually abusing a minor under the age of 12 on at least four separate occasions dating back to April 2020.
At that time, Pacheco was also charged with two counts of invasion of privacy for allegedly filming a woman in the bathroom on two separate occasions in September. The Webster County Attorney’s Office has filed a motion to sever the sex abuse charges from the invasion of privacy charges.
Pacheco is scheduled to go to trial on the five sex abuse charges on March 1, 2022. He is being held at the Webster County Jail on a $104,000 cash-only bond.
In two separate, additional cases, Pacheco is also charged with other crimes for showing pornographic videos on his cell phone to a woman and a 10-year-old girl.
According to court records, he went up to windows at each of the victim’s homes and placed his phone up to a window while playing a pornographic video, knowing the occupants of the home could see the videos.
For the woman, Pacheco was charged with first-degree harassment and trespassing. In the case involving the girl, he was charged with dissemination and exhibition of obscene material to a minor, as well as harassment and trespassing.
For those two cases, Pacheco is scheduled to go to trial in January.
