Semi tips over near Duncombe Tuesday

A semi truck and trailer ended up on its side outside Duncombe on Tuesday morning.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, a Peterbilt semi truck driven by Robert White, of Lehigh, was traveling south on Xavier Avenue, north of Duncombe, shortly before 7 a.m. when the semi struck a red Ford Edge SUV that was stopped along the shoulder.

The SUV, driven by Rose Coate, of Webster City, had been pulled over after becoming disabled and had no functioning lights.

Coate’s vehicle had been pushed into the northbound lane and the semi continued south, entering the east ditch and overturning.

Both drivers were transported to UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center by Fort Dodge Fire Rescue ambulances with minor injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
