One woman was taken to UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center after the Ford Mustang she was in rolled, landed on its roof and caught fire near Lizard Creek Ranch on Sunday afternoon. The ranch was hosting the Cruise to the Woods car show. According to Webster County Sheriff’s Deputy Matt Burns, the Mustang was driving south when the driver lost control and rolled the car in the west ditch. Witnesses said the driver lost control while attempting a “burnout.” The woman, a passenger, was briefly trapped in the vehicle while it was on fire, but the fire was extinguished and first responders were able to safely extract her from the car. The woman was taken to the hospital by ambulance for minor injuries, Burns said. The driver was uninjured. On scene were the Fort Dodge Fire Department, Barnum Fire Department, Fort Dodge Police Department, Webster County Sheriff’s Office and Iowa State Patrol.
