Fire at grain elevator extinguished quickly
No injuries reported
CLARION — A bearing that got too hot atop the Gold Eagle Cooperative grain elevator created a small fire Wednesday morning, according to Wright County Sheriff Jason Schluttenhofer.
Clarion firefighters responded at 8:20 a.m. to the cooperative along Madison Avenue.
“The Clarion Fire Department got up there and put it out with no injuries,” Schluttenhofer said. “Gold Eagle employees got everything shut off.”
Firefighters were on scene for less than an hour, Schluttenhofer reported.
“It was taken care of pretty quickly,” Schluttenhofer said.
