HARCOURT — A Harcourt man is charged with multiple counts of sexual abuse following an investigation by the Webster County Sheriff’s Office.
Matthew J. Davis, 41, is charged with three counts of third-degree sexual abuse, class C felonies, and three counts of incest, class D felonies.
Deputies were contacted on Monday regarding the alleged abuses, which occurred in rural Webster County near Harcourt, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
During the investigation of the alleged offenses, Webster County sheriff’s deputies conducted multiple witness interviews and executed search warrants in order to learn additional information.
By the end of the day Monday, detectives with the Webster County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division filed six criminal complaints against Davis.
Davis is currently held in the custody of the Webster County Jail.
His initial appearance was Tuesday in Webster County Magistrate Court. Davis was ordered held on $165,000 thousand cash-only bond.
The Webster County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by detectives with the Fort Dodge Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division and the Webster County Attorney’s Office.
