High speed chase ends in arrest

Webster County sheriff’s deputies were led on a high speed chase into the north side of Fort Dodge Monday evening.

Robert Holmes III, of Fort Dodge, was apprehended at Westridge Townhomes located at 188 Ave. M West after he fled law enforcement, according to Deputy Sheriff Dan Charlson.

Holmes failed to pull over for a traffic stop near 115th Street and U.S. Highway 169. Law enforcement pursued Holmes southbound on U.S. Highway 169 into Fort Dodge. The chase reached speeds of up to 107 mph.

While fleeing, Holmes was allegedly throwing items out of the vehicle, but deputies were unable to locate any evidence after the chase.

Holmes abandoned the vehicle at Westridge Townhomes and fled on foot between the buildings before entering townhome 188. Holmes was apprehended as he was exiting the residence shortly after and taken into custody.
