Houser, who has been charting hits since 2008, will be the headliner for the concert to be held at Central Avenue and Ninth Street.

“This artist fits perfectly with the hot country model we’ve gone with since 2017,” said Jim Reed, the president of Shellabration Inc. the non-profit group that organizes the concerts.

Opening acts will be Brad Morgan followed by Cory Waller & the Wicked Things.

Tickets go on sale online Saturday. They will cost $25 if purchased before Sept. 20. Beginning Sept. 20, the ticket price will rise to $30. If any tickets remain on the day of the show, they will be sold at the gate for $35.

The Downtown Country Jam debuted in 2017. It has been an annual event since then except for last year when it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“People are hungry,” said Craig Schlienz, a member of the Shellabration Inc Board of Directors. “They want to come out to hear live music.”

Houser’s first hit was “Anything Goes” in 2008. It made the Billboard country Top 20. ”Boots On,” was next and it reached the Top 5.

His album “How Country Feels” produced two consecutive No. 1 hits: the title track ”How Country Feels” and ”Running Outta Moonlight.” A third single from that album “Goodnight Kiss” reached No. 2.

In 2016, he had another No. 1 hit with ”We Went.”

His other hits include ”Whistling Dixie,” ”I’m All About It,” ”A Man like Me,” ”In God’s Time,” ”Like a Cowboy and ”What Whiskey Does.”

”Randy Houser, to me, has the best sound and I think he’ll resonate really well with the audience we’re trying to serve in Fort Dodge,” Schlienz said.

The show will begin at 5;30 p.m. when Morgan, from the Manning area, takes the stage, which will be set up in the intersection..

Cory Waller & the Wicked Things will perform beginning at 6:45 p.m. Waller was a key member of the popular local group called the Jay Clyde Band.

House is slated to take the stage at 8:30 p.m.

”We couldn’t be more pleased with the lineup we have, including our opening acts,” Reed said.

.Reed said the Shellbration team is riding a high following the July 2 concert featuring Cheap Trick and 38 Special.

”I think we’re riding a wave coming off Shellabration,” he said.

That concert attracted between 6,400 and 6,500 people.

Tickets go on sale Saturday at www.ticketweb.com. They will cost $25.

Tickets will go on sale at Hy-Vee, 115 S. 29th St., beginning Aug. 14.

Ticket prices will increase to $30 on Sept. 20.

Any remaining tickets will be sold at the gate for $35.
