Local photographers recognized for support of parks and recreation

Bartletts receive award during Monday’s council meeting

Submitted photo: Kyle and Jana Bartlett with Jana's parents, Terry and Diane Keith, on Monday after the Fort Dodge City Council meeting. The Bartletts were recognized for their support of city parks and recreation.

A couple that runs a local photography business has been recognized at the state level for its support of local recreation programs.

Kyle and Jana Bartlett, owners of Bartlett Photography in Fort Dodge, received the Business Support Award from the Iowa Parks and Recreation Association.

The award was presented to them during Monday’s City Council meeting.

Bartlett Photography has taken team and individual photos of recreation league teams.

Each year, it gives about $2,000 to the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department.

Recently, it conducted a food drive focused solely on peanut butter and jelly. During ball games last week, Bartlett Photography collected 226 jars of peanut butter and jelly to be donated to the Lord’s Cupboard.

The company’s efforts are not limited to sports events. It also photographs the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department’s Daddy-Daughter Dance.
