St. Paul teachers to have rooftop fundraiser

Two St. Paul Lutheran School preschool teachers will hit the roof on Tuesday to raise money for a new feature for their classroom.

Dawn Vought and Anna Zimmermann will be on the roof of the school, 1217 Fourth Ave. S., from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. to raise $4,000 for a classroom loft.

Vought described it as a ”treehouse in a classroom.”

She said it can be set up for use with a variety of lessons and activities.

”You can do a lot of different things with it,” Vought said.

The two teachers will be on the roof in the northwest corner of the school. From there, they will be making phone calls to solicit donations. But they will also accept donations from people who stop by. Vought said they will have a bucket tied to a rope that they will lower so that visitors can put donations in.

Donations can also be sent to St.Paul Lutheran School, 1217 Fourth Ave. S., Fort Dodge, IA 50501. Indicate on the check that the donation is for the preschool.

Vought said the rooftop fundraiser is a unique way for her to celebrate 20 years of teaching at the school.
