Fort Dodge Firefighter Orlando Peace, front, carries equipment back to a fire engine as Shane Foote, of Fort Dodge, takes a photo of some flaming materials in a cooler Thursday night. Firefighters were called to this home at 314 Sixth Ave. N. at about 10:03 p.m. for a report of a house fire. Foote, the owner of the home, said his wife woke up after the smoke alarm sounded and she woke him up. "I was sleeping and she yelled at me," Foote said. Foote said he saw flames on top of the stove and used a fire extinguisher while his wife called the Fire Department. Everyone including two dogs made it safely out of the house. Foote said the smoke alarms were a huge factor in alerting him to the fire. The Fort Dodge Police Department was also on scene.
