Juveniles arrested for car burglaries

Two male juveniles have been taken into custody by local law enforcement after a rash of vehicle break-ins and thefts in the Coalville area earlier this month.

According to a press release from Webster County Sheriff Luke Fleener, multiple residents in the Coalville area reported thefts and damage to vehicles the weekend of May 2. Investigators and detectives from the Sheriff’s Office and the Fort Dodge Police Department conducted several interviews and executed multiple search warrants at residences in Coalville and Fort Dodge.

As a result of the search warrants, investigators recovered stolen property, illegal narcotics and multiple firearms.

According to Fleener, investigators determined that the vehicle break-ins had been committed by several juveniles and as of Thursday, two male juveniles have been taken into custody on burglary charges. THe names of those involved are being withheld due to their age.

Fleener added that the case is an ongoing investigation and further arrests are pending.

The Sheriff’s Office asks residents in the Coalville area to review any surveillance system recordings they have for the weekend of May 2 and contact law enforcement if any footage shows suspicious activity.
