Fire at landfill remains under investigation

A large blaze that ignited in the middle of the Regional Landfill on Tuesday night remains under investigation.

The Fort Dodge Fire Department was dispatched to a fire at 2240 Landfill Drive shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday for a large fire of garbage and construction waste in the landfill area.

Fort Dodge firefighters were assisted by volunteer firefighters and tanker trucks from the Otho and Duncombe fire departments.

The Fire Department used large master streams from the top of the aerial ladder to bring the fire under control.

The crews remained on scene until about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. No injuries were reported.
