JEFFERSON — A dust explosion left a gaping hole in a concrete elevator at Landus Cooperative in Jefferson on Friday morning, the Jefferson Herald reported.

Employees at nearby B&D Mfg. said their building shook, then they saw flames coming from one of the concrete grain silos at Landus.

Neighbors to the facility, 1500 N. Mulberry St., reported on social media that their windows rattled from the explosion.

No injuries were reported.

Crews responded at about 8 a.m.

Kerrey Kerr-Enskat, executive vice president of communications and marketing for Landus Cooperative, said all employees were accounted for.

“All employees are accounted for and there were no injuries,” said Kerr-Enskat. “Local fire and emergency services are onsite and the situation is contained and under control. An investigation into the cause of the incident will be conducted.”
