Car flips over in Fort Dodge crash

A car rolled onto its roof during a crash Tuesday morning on South Eighth Street near downtown Fort Dodge.

While at least one occupant of the vehicle complained of pain, everyone involved in the crash declined to be taken to the hospital by ambulance.

The crash occurred at 8:35 a.m. at the intersection of Third Avenue South and Eighth Street, according to Fort Dodge Police Lt. Joe Bates.

He said Clayton Rogers, of Fort Dodge, was heading east on Third Avenue South in a 2007 Pontiac G6 when he failed to stop at the stop sign and hit a 2015 Ford Fiesta which was northbound on Eighth Street. That car, operated by Anaia Kaden, of Fort Dodge, was struck on its driver’s side.

Bates said Kaden’s car spun, hit a curb and flipped onto its top. He said it landed on the sidewalk near the former Federal Building.

Firefighters had to extricate Kaden and a passenger from her car.

Bates said Rogers was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and failure to provide proof of financial liability, accident related.
