Three new patrol vehicles will be coming to the Fort Dodge Police Department later this year.
The City Council on Monday purchased the vehicles from Fort Dodge Ford Lincoln Toyota for a total of $95,346. That’s $31,782 per vehicle.
They will be Ford Police Interceptor Utility Vehicles, which are essentially the law enforcement version of the Ford Explorer. They will replace three older, high mileage vehicles. Councilman Jeff Halter was absent from the otherwise unanimous vote to buy the vehicles.
