SAC CITY — A Sac City woman died Monday morning after crashing into the back of a tractor trailer on Highway 71 just north of Early.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, Courtney Graffunder, 21, of Sac City, was driving northbound on Highway 71 in a 2015 Chevrolet Camaro when she failed to stop and collided with the rear of the tractor-trailer driven by Joshua Cordes, 40, of Enid, Oklahoma. Cordes had been stopped in the northbound lane waiting to turn left.

Graffunder died as a result of the collision, according to the Iowa State Patrol.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Sac County Sheriff’s Office.
