-Submitted photo Employees from Humes Distributing pose next to tires they pulled from the Des Moines River on Monday. With the river at historically low levels, Humes Distributing saw the opportunity to get a team of employees together to pull tires and other debris from the water. Employees involved were: Roger Brown, John Colshan, Scott Messerly, Randy Vanderpool, Nick McDonald, Richy Sanchez-Hernandez, Tony Isom and Bryce Duncan.  The team worked for roughly three hours under the Karl King Viaduct to retrieve items. Doyle Construction allowed use of their dump trailer.
