In honor of the one-year anniversary of the Rev. Al Henderson’s passing in October 2019, Graham Tire Company presented Serving Our Servants with a $4,000 donation, raised through a silent auction in July.

Graham Tire has hosted similar benefits for nonprofit organizations for 12 years, raising a total of $78,000. The S.O.S. donation this year was made in memory of Henderson, who started the nonprofit. Each January, Graham Tire owner Rick Carle solicits silent auction item donations from businesses in South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Missouri and Illinois.

“They must have the same heart that Rev. Al Henderson had,” Carle said, thanking all who bid on the items. “The benefits each year would not be successful if it wasn’t for these great businesses and the people in the Fort Dodge area that bid on the items.”

In honor of Henderson, Carle asks the public to “pay it forward” by doing something nice for someone else in need.

Organizations hoping to gain consideration as future beneficiaries can write an explanation of needs to: Graham Tire, Attn: Rick Carle, 110 S. 25th St., Fort Dodge, IA 50501. Letters can also be sent via email to rickc@grahamtire.net.
