Fort Dodge man charged with attempted murder

Police: Bodady cut and stabbed 71-year-old victim

A Fort Dodge man is charged with attempted murder after allegedly cutting and stabbing a 71-year-old victim with a knife early Saturday morning, according to the Fort Dodge Police Department.

Reino Bodady, 37, of Fort Dodge, is charged with attempted murder, a class B felony.

Officers were called to 504 N. Third St. at about 4:40 a.m.

When they arrived, they located Bodady at the residence. Inside, officers found a 71-year-old woman who had been cut and stabbed with a knife.

She suffered significant injuries to her neck and abdomen area.

The woman was transported by the Fort Dodge Fire Department to UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Bodady was detained without incident. He is being held in the Webster County Jail.

Police are continuing the investigation. The Webster County Attorney’s Office assisted.
