Webster County COVID-19 cases continue to rise

The number of COVID-19 cases in Webster County are continuing to rise, reaching 750 total cases as of Tuesday afternoon.

This is an increase of 49 since the last report from the Webster County Public Health Department on Friday.

Of the 750 total cases, 409 are members of Webster County communities, while 341 are attributed from the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility, the WCPH said.

The majority of individuals who have tested positive either in the communities or at the FDCF have met requirements of the CDC’s requirements for recovery and have been released from public health isolation. This leaves 88 active cases in the communities and 58 active cases at the FDCF.

The age breakdowns of those who have tested positive are as follows:

Children (0-17): 35

Adults (18-40): 388

Middle-aged adults (41-60): 227

Older adults (61-80): 88

Elderly (80+): 12

There have been six deaths in Webster County attributed to COVID-19.
