What other law enforcement positions/departments have you served in?
Iowa Capitol Police, and served as a state trooper in Harlan, Spencer and Mason City.
What’s an interesting fact about you that some might not know?
I served in the Air National Guard for 24 years
What’s the most memorable incident you’ve responded to?
Maynard Bank Robbery, when I was on the tactical team. We had to go into a wooded area to capture two suspects who had already shot two officers. Fortunately they gave up and neither officer was injured severely.
What’s the best part of your day?
Making it home to my wife.
What gives you the most satisfaction in your job?
The times you get to help someone, like finding a stranded motorist during a snow storm and taking them to a safe place.
What’s the toughest part about your job?
Death and serious injury calls. Knowing that loved ones have lost someone or that a person’s life will be forever changed by injuries from a crime or accident.
