Man injured in explosion identified
The man who suffered serious injuries in a Tuesday night explosion outside of a Fort Dodge home has been identified.
Robert Olson, 43, of Fort Dodge, was injured in the blast, according to the Fort Dodge Police Department.
Olson suffered significant injuries to his left hand when a small homemade explosive device detonated unexpectedly at 809 S. 16th St., according to police.
Olson was airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. He is reportedly in stable condition.
According to police, the explosion is believe to be an isolated event and not an ongoing threat to the community.
The investigation is ongoing.
